What Audio File Formats Can I Use?

Tuneform Supports the following audio file types:

  • .wav
  • .flac
  • .mp3
  • .m4a

Recommended for Best Results:
16 Bit Dithered WAV with Sample Rate of either 44.1k or 48k

ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) in M4A Containers:
Tuneform doesn't currently support audio files with the .alac extension, but using ALAC encoded audio in .m4a containers IS supported. Be aware that playback of the ALAC codec on web browsers has limited support, so if you are using this type of audio for a video render, you may have to download the video file to your local machine/device to hear the audio.

Limitations:
Audio Files with sample rates above 48k are currently unsupported for Reactive Visualizers.
Additionally, audio files with more than 2 channels (i.e. 5.1 Surround Sound Tracks) may cause reactive visualizer renders to fail.

Metadata in Audio Files:
Generally, most metadata added to your audio files such as ID3 tags or embedded cover image art won't cause issues.
However, certain DAWs and software may add tempo/marker/iXML metadata to your audio files. At times, this type of metadata embedded inside your audio file can cause video render issues.
If you experience video render failures using audio with this type of metadata, re-bounce your audio file with the data stripped out, then try again.
